Interactive history of the band & main artist site

A monumental undertaking: a digital hub for all Rolling Stones material, begun in August 2020 and gathering momentum ever since. A sophisticated custom CMS aims to make this the largest online music archive ever created.

The site displays well-crafted content with some clever componentry — auto-generating text blocks that appear as notebook pages and torn-off paper. The CMS lets an editor set components and spacing as a percentage of the screen, allowing content to overlap. All of it feeds the rock ’n’ roll scrapbook aesthetic.

Mobile audio sync app

We interfaced with the venue's video scheduling hardware over a WebSocket and built a scalable streaming app, letting fans tune in to hidden broadcasts that synced perfectly with the Sphere — whether they were in Vegas or a million lightyears away.

On non-show days the app opened into an evolving sphere of previously unheard content: rare remixes and new soundscapes from The Edge, Bono and Brian Eno.

Project
Google Map world tour companion app

Two shows per city, plus events, screenings and support gigs across multiple venues. We designed and built a heavily customised Google Map of everything happening — including geo-located activations you had to be physically on the ground to unlock.

A Tour Journal documented iconic moments from the band’s history in each city, and a Spotify playlist generator built you a Metallica playlist the exact length of your journey to the gig.

Interactive map for the Dodger Stadium shows

Built with Rocket Entertainment and Google Maps for the Dodger Stadium shows. Billboards across LA pointed fans to an interactive map of pop-ups and iconic locations, with markers crafted in an embroidery style — like a badge stitched on a jersey.

The experience showcased Google Maps tech not yet public: “Rocket View” used Google Earth, rendered APIs and Cloud products to generate drone-like flights over every location, with adjustable time of day.

E-commerce for Green Day’s bespoke coffee brand

A custom intro sequence pulls you straight into the product, original in-house illustration expands the Punk Bunny mascot, and a purchase modal lets people swap product types without leaving the page. We loved working on this one.

For the launch across Green Day’s North American tour we modelled and animated custom video for the big screens, inviting the crowd to visit the site and spin the wheel for prizes.

Bespoke tourist destination website & CMS

With IMG and Battersea Power Station, a bespoke destination site for the 109-metre ascent up the north-west chimney. Opening and sunset times for the next seven days are pulled into a visual block to ease friction on spur-of-the-moment bookings.

Built on a design system so each component could be re-skinned for another Battersea sub-brand — the first being Glide, the annual ice rink in front of the power station.
